Over 2 months, broken dead...

We hired Personal Touch 2 months ago when we needed out shower riped out and to be replaced with a tub surround. What started off as being a 2 day job, quickly turned into a full week job. The job wasn't started until the day the project originally was suppose to be finished (as stated in our contract). During that week, the contractor constantly forgot that he needed to do certain things in order to put the walls up, plus he cut corners, such as deciding to not take out moldy insulation because no air or moisture would get at it to cause it to grow. He only told me this after he had two of the drywall boards up.
Two weeks after he finished the job, our kitchen ceiling collapsed because the plumbing had not been done correctly. The contractor came back immediately and said that he never checked the plumbing when he did it the first time. (which to me seems like something you do, but what do I know, I'm just a girl!) He claimed he fixed the leak, but four days later there was still water leaking into our kitchen. He came back and "fixed" the plumbing again, only to have it leak the next day. He constantly tried to place the blame on us and breaking something in the shower in order for the leaking to continue, instead of taking the blame for his horrible handy work. After he fixed it this third time, it still leaked and my fiancé called him and asked that a plumber be brought in. Once the plumber came, he fixed the problem in less than an hour. So after a month since the job was suppose to be finished, the job was actually finished.
A few weeks passed and the contractor finally came back to fix the kitchen ceiling. The first two days were fine, but on the third day the contractor never showed up nor answered any of my calls. He did the same on the seventh day, which is today. I'm seriously doubting when this whole ordeal will be over.
This company have horrible customer service. It seemed as though the contractor took our job to make a little bit of extra cash in between bigger jobs, and although he constantly said that his other work did not affect us, I beg to differ. He constantly didn't show up on days that he said he would, would not call to say he would be late or not coming and would not answer his phone when I called. I would not have cared as much if he did not show up, if he had had the common courtesy to call to let me know that he was not going to come so that I did not waste many hours waiting for him to show up.
This whole experience has left us scarred from ever wanting to hire a contractor again. In the future, we plan on tackling all our home renos ourself because we believe it would save us a HUGE headache if we just did it ourselves.
